The Luceum of Velestino, (GEL VELESTINOU) is the main Senior High School in the seat of the Municipality of Rigas Feraios in Central Greece and was founded in 1898, it is therefore one of the oldest schools in Greece. Nowadays, there are 150 students and 20 teachers in the school, whereas the curriculum provides general education and preparation for the National exams for entry to
Tertiary University Education. All students study at least 2 foreign languages (English and French).
Our students are between 15 and 18 and participate in activities of national projects such as environmental, health education and career education every year, while aiming at studies in all academic areas. The school gathers students from all over the municipality of 28 villages and hasbeen front page in the media of the area many times because of the students' success and high
standards of motivation. The school ethos and philosophy focuses on equal opportunities for all students, inclusion of each one in the learning process and seeking excellence.
